Euskadi (Spain) welcomes representatives from Finland, Greece, Italy, and Spain as part of the European QUANTUM+ project, coordinated by Cluster GAIA. The initiative aims to develop a training pathway and platform on quantum technologies for students, teachers, and professionals in the tech industry.
The delegation participated in a working session at GAIA’s headquarters in Bilbao, focusing on advancing QUANTUM+, a project funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ program and set to conclude in September 2027. The goal is to enhance skills and employability in a sector expected to revolutionize industries such as energy, telecommunications, finance, medicine, and advanced manufacturing.
The group also visited:
- Lantik’s headquarters to learn about Biqain, the strategy led by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to drive the development and commercialization of quantum innovations.
- Bilbao’s School of Engineering (UPV/EHU) to explore the Chip SoC4sensing Chair, promoting collaboration between academia and industry in electronic systems innovation.
GAIA highlights the importance of strengthening university-business collaboration in this emerging field to prepare qualified professionals and position Euskadi as a reference in the quantum industry.
